BarbersRide 2019 was a five-day journey of adventure, camaraderie, barbering, biking and fund-raising for the most deserving, national Make-A-Wish Children’s Charity.
United in their shared passion for bikes and barbering, the BarbersRide crew took to their wheels for a memory-making tour around the UK that will stay with them for a lifetime. BarbersRide was the brainchild of a group of barber & biker buddies – their shared passion for barbering and motorbikes was the catalyst to planning an annual five-day UK road-trip adventure.
The event has previously raised over 20k for London’s Great Ormond Street and Liverpool’s Alder Hey children’s hospitals and this year they have smashed targets with funds over £14,000.A spokesperson from BarbersRide said: “Make-A-Wish grant special wishes for sick children when they are most in need and bring positivity and happiness in times of distress. We really wanted to work with a national children’s charity this year so that children from each region could benefit – Make-A-Wish were the perfect organisation to partner with and we’ve had incredible support from our sponsors, our riders, the barbers and barbershops who have hosted seminars and of course the guests at every event.
The ride has become as much about the journey (the journey from Sheffield to Lytham across the notorious Snakespass was a favourite) as the evenings spent in prestigious barber shops taking inspiration from some of the world’s most in-demand barbers. 2019’s extravaganza was the biggest yet with a record number of riders and a line up of some of the world’s most inspirational barbers hosting intimate events. After intense and gruelling journeys (the great British weather at it’s finest) the biker gang arrived in force each night for action-packed evenings.
The evenings were hosted by Ruger Barber with Carley Cardle & Simon Shaw, Savills with Joth Davies & Christian Wiles,Black Sails with Paul Taylor-Clinch and James Beaumont, Baldy Barbers with Baldy & Wez Jones and Norwich Harley-Davidson with Pauly Hamer & Haydn Woodrow. Live music, raffles, auctions for high-profile sporting memorabilia and much-appreciated drinks and food were organised by the hosts. If yet more evidence were needed to highlight just how big this event has become, we can look at the impressive lineup of sponsors: Captain Fawcett, Reuzel, American Crew, Harley-Davidson, Barbicide and Hard Grind were key sponsors and associate sponsors included Wahl, PandCo, Rok Soba and Soccer Speaker.
BarberEVO was thrilled to take on the role of official media partner for this year’s ride and we look forward to getting involved again next year!
