The Bluebeard’s Revenge launches new vegan-friendly beard brush

As the demand for more ethically sourced grooming products reaches an all-time high, The Bluebeards Revenge has made another of its best-selling products animal-free.

Until now, The Bluebeard’s Revenge Travel Beard Brush experience has been unavailable to those that follow a vegan/animal-free lifestyle. Thankfully that’s about to change…

“We’re committed to making our award-winning products as accessible as possible,” says Bluebeard-in-Chief David Hildrew. “With this in mind, we’re very proud to announce that our Travel Beard Brush is now available with 100% vegan-friendly bristles.”

The modernized version of this beard-conquering brush has replaced boar hair bristles with a specially synthesised material that’s made from innovative filaments; the new synthetic bristles are created using cellulose during a sophisticated production process. In the interest of sustainability, these modern bristles also make the most of renewable resources and are biodegradable. “Most importantly, our new brush functions just as effectively as the original,” added Hildrew.

Just like the original, this new Synthetic Travel Beard Brush features a beech wood body and a laser-etched version of the brand’s distinctive skull and crossbones logo – all of this striking detail in a brush so small it can be slipped neatly into any pocket.

OSMO BALLERS BARBER JUSTIN CARR STRIKES BLUE

‘Ballers Barber and OSMO Ambassador Justin Carr took his barbering skills to a new level when AFC Wimbledon player, Scott Wagstaff, asked to have his impressive beard dyed in his club colours.

Scott stuck to a promise he made before the last round of the FA Cup, to have his trademark beard dyed, if AFC Wimbledon beat West Ham United – and they did!

OSMO’s Justin Carr, who is called upon by many famous sports players and footballers, did the honours in the home changing room for a BBC Football Focus TV feature. Following two hours of Justin’s magic, Scott’s beard was blue and yellow!

“This was just wicked.  Scott was so up for it!  I had to bleach his beard first to lighten it, then I applied OSMO Color Psycho Semi-Permanent Hair Colour in Wild Blue to reflect to colour of AFC Wimbledon. He was really cool with the finished look and all the national papers came down to cover it – it’s been everywhere in the papers and online. He’s now got to go on and score, to do the beard some real celebrations!  Maybe I’ve just created a new trend too…the day/night beard,” said Justin.

How Leo J. Wahl Changed the Appearance of History

From crew cuts, pompadours and afros to today’s fades and custom designs, history tells us the one constant in hairstyles is change. Yet regardless of what styles come and go over the years, Wahl Clipper Corporation has remained the leader in pioneering and refining the world’s best electric clippers. For the past 100 years, the company has continued to innovate and create the tools that make cutting the hairstyles of the past and future possible for barbers and stylists all over the world. But despite its global leadership position, the company remains family-owned and headquartered in the same town where it began.

While selling a medical massager that he’d invented for barbershops, Leo spoke with and listened to many barbers and recognized their need to have better, more efficient hair cutting tools. He began to focus his efforts on building an efficient and high-quality clipper, and on October 14, 1919, Leo J. Wahl of Sterling, Illinois applied for patents on his newly developed electromagnetic hair clipper. As a result, the Wahl Clipper Corporation was officially born.

The company grew over the next 20 years and by the early 1940s Leo Wahl had plastic molding presses installed at the company’s factory to allow for control over the production process. This decision also made it possible for Wahl to constantly improve upon his designs and perfect the intrinsic value of all his products – something other companies’ barber tools were unable to match. It also allowed the Wahl product line to expand to include hair dryers, shear sharpeners, shears, combs and much more. In 1948 the company launched the Senior clipper which, 60 years later, continues to be a staple among barbers’ and stylists’ tools.
In 1957, Leo J. Wahl passed away with over 100 patents in his name. Motivated to keep the Wahl Clipper Corporation a family business, Leo passed the company on to his three sons: Warren, Robert and Jack. Under their leadership the company produced many new products including the very unique and innovative flexible-blade electric razor, the vacuum clipper, the first universal-type rotary motor clipper and the cordless/rechargeable battery-operated hair trimmer changed the barbering world forever.

In 1980, Jim Wahl, a third-generation Wahl and Warren’s son, began the company’s first official professional product division and in 1983 formed the Wahl Education and Artistic Team (W.E.A.T.) as a way to educate barbers and stylists on the importance of using the right tools and techniques. In 1992, the versatile Peanut clipper was introduced and in 2002 a barber-oriented line of 5-Starproducts was launched. Nearly 20 years later, the 5-Star line continues to be some of the company’s most popular clippers.

Today, Wahl has a wide variety of clippers, trimmers, blades and accessories to help barbers execute the cutting techniques required to create the styles their customers want. The Wahl Clipper Corporation team continues to listen to barbers, just as Leo J. Wahl did, to understand what they need to keep providing their customers with stylish, quality haircuts and trims.

In celebration of 100 years of business, Wahl has combined a century of engineering advances into its newest product, the 100 Year Cordless Clipper. The finest professional clipper to date, it’s a physical embodiment of 100 years of Wahl innovation and tradition. The 100 Year Clipper has the classic style of the original Wahl designs and an all-metal casing, but with powerful cordless technology and a li-ion battery. Only available in a limited release, the 100 Year Clipper is sure to sell out quickly.

Wahl Clipper Corporation started with one man’s vision, a single patent and a small manufacturing plant. Today, it’s grown to seven factories on four continents, 26 sales offices around the world serving over 165 countries, and over 274 patents related to the barbering, salon and pet grooming industries. However, the core of what makes Wahl what it is has not changed since the days of Leo Wahl. The focus on innovation, quality and efficiency have helped the Wahl Clipper Corporation become the leader in its industry and will allow it to continue as the leader for years to come.

Wahl’s New Mentor Detachable Clipper Honors an Icon

The new Mentor Clipper honors the life, career and mentorship of Wahl employee and barber mentor Isadore Adams. Isadore Adams was a pioneer of barbering and a valued employee at Wahl. After opening his first shop in 1971, Isadore designed his first of many barber hair style charts, which are now commonly known to the industry as I ADAMS or Wahl Posters.

Isadore eventually grew to a vital role at Wahl, keeping the century-old clipper company deeply connected to working hair professionals. He regularly traveled to barbershops throughout the U.S., taking time to understand what barbers need from their Wahl tools. His experience and first-hand knowledge were critical in the development of the premier Wahl 5 Star barbering line alongside another Wahl legend, Bo Langley.

During his travels, Isadore held true to his passion for the craft by taking barbers under his wing, becoming a valuable mentor to many. He then led the charge to form the Wahl Education & Artistic Team (W.E.A.T.) and, to this day several current members attribute securing their places on the prestigious team to the support of and mentorship by Isadore.

“He worked the information into us, there was no option other than success if you were learning from him,” said Wahl Education & Artistic Team member Garland ‘G-Whiz’ Fox. “He met everyone at their level regardless of their gender, income, location or whatever – he was an awesome mentor.”

A reflection of Isadore’s passion for barbering, the Mentor Clipper is designed for the barber or cosmetologist who is serious about their craft. Excellent for achieving a seamless fade with using just one tool, and especially great for debulking course, thick hair.

The Mentor comes with a detachable four-blade system. Compared to other Wahl clippers, the Mentor has much more power; its brushless motor has a speed between 3,000 and 3,7000 RPM – faster than all other detachable blade clippers on the market. This extra power makes the Mentor better and faster to use on coarse or thick hair. It’s an ideal tool for barbers that work with quick turnaround clients. “The new detachable blade system diminishes the lines of demarcation when changing blades. This allows the barber or stylist to work faster at completing the haircut. A high RPM clipper and improved blade design is a winning combination” says Tracy Vock, Wahl Professional Senior Product Manager.

Ergonomic and light weight, the Mentor makes it easy to use for barbers and cosmetologists alike. Wahl increased the comfort and control to make sure it was perfectly balanced and reduced the vibration to a minimum. In addition, a long flexible cord allows for ease of movement for the barber or stylist. Plus, to prevent mistakes, there’s a locking mechanism that must be engaged in order to switch the blades.

Taking its cue from Isadore, the Mentor Clipper brings a new depth of opportunity to the professional hair industry by maintaining quality while pushing efficiency. A reminder that there is no other option than success and acting as an ode to every great barber who had a great mentor.
